About me

Welcome!!!

I have been an educator for over 10 years teaching primarily Social Studies. I also hold credentials in English, General Science, and English Language Development. I have worked in training and mentoring roles developing new teacher's skills, and allowing them to build the confidence so they can also become successful educators.  I love inspiring people to become better and learn all the rights and powers they have as citizens of our great country. I hope I can be the coach that will help your students learn what success means to them .

A little about myself:

I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. After high school I moved to beautiful San Luis Obispo where I attended California Polytechnic State University. My goal in life was to solve the problem of why we as people live within communities which do not meet our needs. I felt the best way to do this was to major in City and Regional Planning. I learned as much as I could about our societies and how they function. Unfortunately, I graduated in 2009 when most of the country was cutting their planning departments, so finding a job somewhere in planning was very difficult. I then began working in a 10th grade US History class and I realized that teaching was an amazing way to give back to my community. I had always been given training roles at previous jobs and love inspiring people to become their best selves. I have a passion for translating new, and sometimes obscure, information into something my students can understand. I went back to school and graduated from San Francisco State University with a teaching certificate in 2012. I continue to take courses in new and different areas, and I believe in always being a lifelong learner.

In my free time I love spending time with my wonderful wife Brittney, our two kids Emmett and Audrey, and your two dogs, Hugo and Tubbers. We love the outdoors and being an active part of our community. My wife Brittney is also a teacher so having time off together gives us the opportunity to travel and explore new places. We have traveled throughout the world and the United States and love experiencing new customs and cultures.

I also love to cook. At the moment I am learning as much as I can about German cuisine and the flavor profiles of some of their signature dishes. I also really enjoy making pizza and pasta from scratch and enjoying their simple complexities.
